Why I Love Writing Fantasy Heroes

One of my favorite parts of writing stories like Obsidian Tide and Midnight Embers is shaping the messy, brave, complicated people who rise to face the impossible—even when they’re far from ready.

Because in the world of Akaria, destiny isn’t neat. Fate is tangled. And no hero walks a straight path.

Whether it’s Liam, torn between duty and desire, trying to outrun the weight of his own name…
Katerina, unraveling the truth of who she is—and what she’s capable of…
Or Anthony… well, being Anthony, which is basically ninety percent trouble and ten percent charm (or is it the other way around?)…

No one gets through the story unscarred. But maybe that’s what makes them worth following.
